NEETMA Indiana Project map
The map is of the northwest Indiana state region. From left to right the two purple parallel lines represent the transmission line which starts at the West Illinios and Indiana state border, runs East then Northeast through the town of St John (represented by a blue dot), then East through the town of Green Acres (represented by a blue dot), then finally running East then Northeast and stopping in Porter County.
Substations (kV): Orange dot represents 138 kV. Blue dot represents 345 kV. Purple line represents the NEET Indiana project. Transmission (kV): Light blue line represents under 100 kV. Mustard yellow line represents 100-161 kV. Dark blue line represents 345 kV. Red line represents 735 and above kV.

Indiana Assets Transmission Project

345 kV Transmission Line

In December 2020, NEET MidAtlantic IN, a subsidiary of NEET, purchased the 60+ year old, 20-mile double-circuit overhead 345-kilovolt (kV) transmission line from Commonwealth Edison, Inc. A condition assessment performed in January 2021 found the 345 kV double-circuit line is at the end of its useful life and exhibits signs of significant degradation. The assessment also found the age and condition of the asset increases the likelihood of component failures. In 2022, the regional transmission operator, PJM, approved the rebuild project.
